- Algeria has announced presidential pardon for more than 14,000 prisoners on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the country's independence from France.
- Politicians in Sudan dismissed comments made by the country's military leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan that the army would withdraw from ongoing political talks. Political parties in the county described al-Burhan's comments as utter deception, a statement issued on Tuesday (5 July) revealed.
- Local media have reported that the son of Libya's former leader, Saif al-Islam Muammar Gaddafi, would unveil fresh political ambition. Africa News Gateway website reported that Mr Islam's lawyer, Khaled al-Zaydi had said the political ambition would soon be announced.

- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has sent a congratulatory message to his counterpart in Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko, on the national day marking his country's Independence Day. President Raisi called for developing Iran-Belarus cooperation by strengthening their bilateral relations in all areas.
- Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has reported to President Vladimir Putin on the liberation of the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR). Mr Shoigu added that Russian Armed Forces and the People's Militia of the LPR have established full control over Lisichansk and a number of nearby settlements, the largest of which are Belogorovka, Novodruzhesk, Maloryazantsevo, and Belaya Gora.

- Hundreds of people have held protest in the US state of Ohio after police released a video footage showing how a black American was shot and killed. The footage showed how 8 police officers were involved in the killing of Jayland Walker in the Akron city of Ohio.
- The Economic Community of West African States on Sunday July 3rd elected the President of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embalo, its new chairman.
- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian during a phone call Sunday July 3, told his French counterpart, Catherine Colonna, that the US lacked any initiative for progress in Doha talks on the revival of Iranian 2015 nuclear deal.
- Ukrainian Luhansk region Governor Serhiy Haidai, has said Russian soldiers will now move to Donetsk Region after taking full control of Luhansk. Mr Haidai said he was certain that the next target for the Russian troops are the Ukrainian cities of Sloviansk and Bakhmut in Donetsk region, Reuters reported.

- Tunisian President Kais Saied on Thursday (30 June) presented a new constitution that he plans to put to a referendum next month. The new constitution had already been rejected by most political parties in the country, Reuters news agency reported.
- Britain on Thursday June 30th announced it had reached a new deal with Nigeria that would help the two countries tackle illegal migration. Reuters reported that the British government had previously reached a similar agreement with the Rwandan government but the deal later faced several challenges.
- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has said the US is not serious about removal of the unilateral sanctions it imposed on the Islamic republic. President Raisi made the remarks on Thurs June 30 during a phone conversation with Emir of Qatar Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
