- Running short of time; falling short of requirements (e.g. material giving out before a piece of work is completed).
- Being too clever by half and so falling between two stools. e.g. getting rid of a wife because courting another woman who, however, decides to decline one's suit. (cankakare; cakantare; cangasnagas; gintsilmi; tanga-tanga; canga-canga, cankacakare.)
