Dua 86

Allahummaj-‘alni shakira(n), waj-‘alni sabira(n), waj-‘alni fi ‘ayni saghiran wa fi a-yunin-nasi kabira.

O Allah, make me one who is highly grateful. Make me one who is patient and perseverant. Make me small in my own eyes but great in the eyes of others.

Ya Allah, ka sa ni na kasance mai yawan godiya. Ka sanya ni mai hakuri da juriya. Ka maishe mai da ni ƙarami a idanuna amma babba a idanun wasu.

Dua 87

O Allah, put blessings, beauty, and calm in our land.
Allahumma da fi ardina barakataha wa zinataha wa sakanaha.
Ya Allah Ka sanya ni'imar, kyakkyawa, da natsuwa a cikin ƙasarmu.

  1. (109) O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your male servant, and son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your Hand. Your command for me prevails. Your Judgment concerning me is just. I beseech You through every name You have, by which You have called Yourself, or which You have sent down in Your Book, or which You taught to any one of Your creations, or which You preferred to keep to Yourself among Your guarded secrets, to make the Great Quran the springtime of my heart, the light of my eyes, the remedy of my grief, and the dispeller of my anxiety. [1]
  2. 109. Allahumma inni ‘abduka wab-nu ‘abdika wab-nu amatik(a), nasiyati biyadik(a), madin fryya hukmuk(a), ‘adlun hyya qada’uk(a). As’aluka bikullis-min huwa lak(a), sammayta bihi nafsak(a), aw anzaltahi fi kirabik(a), aw ‘allamtahtt ahadam min khalgik(a), awis-ta’tharta bihi fi ‘ilmil-ghaybi ‘indak(a), an taj alal-Qur’anal-‘azima rabi‘a galbi, wa nira basari, wa jilaa huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.
1 Your command for me prevails. command

(109) (‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ad. Mu Sam al-Kabir (Tabarani)]

Sayyidna “Abdullah ibn Mas‘tid aft reports that the Prophet #2 said, “Whenever a Muslim is suffering from a worry or grief and he makes this du‘a’, Allah will remove his worry and replace his grief with joy.” Ihe Companions said, “Should we not learn these words?” He replied, “Certainly. It is only proper for anyone who listens to these words to learn them.” Also see du‘a’ 172.

Dua 116

  1. (116) O Allah,
    116. Allahumma
  2. I seek Your protection
    inni a‘adhu bika
  3. from bad morals,
    min munkaratil-’akhlaqi
  4. deeds,
    wal’a‘mali
  5. desires,
    wal-’ahwa’i
  6. and diseases.
    wal-’adwa(i).
  7. We seek Your protection
    na‘adhu bika
  8. from the evil
    min sharri
  9. of everything for which Your Prophet Muhammad SAW sought Your protection.
    masta adha minhu nabiyyuka Muhammadun sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam(a).
  10. And from a bad neighbor where we live, for a bad neighbor in travel moves away. And from domination of the enemy and the ridicule of the enemies. And from hunger; indeed, it is a bad bedfellow. And from betrayal of trust, for it is a bad intimate. And from that we should turn back on our feet, or that we should be persecuted into separation from our religion. And from tribulations both open and hidden, from the bad day, the bad night, the bad moment, and the bad companion.
  11. wa min jaris-su'i fi daril-muqamati fa inna jaral-badiyati yatahawwal(u), wa ghalabatil-‘aduww(i), wa shamartatil-’a‘da (i), wa minal-ja‘i fa innaha bi’sad-daji'(u), wa minal-khiyanati fa innaha bisatil-bitana(tu), wa an narji‘a ‘ala a‘qabina, aw nuftana ‘an dinina, wa minal-fitani ma zahara minha wa ma batan(a), wa min yawmis-su (i), wa min laylatis-si' (i), wa min sa‘atis-su (i), wa min sahibis-st’.
