tahajjud

“When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed Tahajjud at night, he would say:

  1. “Allahumma lakal-hamd,
    1. O Allah, to you is all praise
    2. Ya Allah, duk yabo naka ne
  2. Anta nurus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Wa lakal-hamd,
    1. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth, and everyone therein. To You is praise
    2. Kai ne hasken sammai da ƙasa da duk wandanda ke cikinsu. Yabo ya tabbata a gare Ka
  3. Anta qayyamus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Wa lakal-hamd,
    1. You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth, and everyone therein. To You is praise
    2. Kai ne Majiɓincin sammai da ƙasa da wanda ke cikinsu. Yabo ya tabbata a gare Ka
  4. Anta malikus- samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Wa lakal-hamd,
    1. You are the Sovereign of the heavens and the earth, and everyone therein. To You is praise,
    2. Kai ne Mamallakin sammai da ƙasa da wanda ke cikinsu. Yabo ya tabbata a gare Ka,
  5. Antal-haqq, wa wa`duka haqq, wa liqa’uka haqq, wa qawluka haqq, wal-jannatu haqq, wan-naru haqq, was-sa`atu haqq, wan-nabiyyuna haqq, wa Muhammadun haqq.
    1. You are the Truth; Your promise is true, the meeting with You is true, Your saying is true, Paradise is true, the Fire is true, the Hour is true, the Prophets are true, and Muhammad (ﷺ) is true.
    2. Kai ne Gaskiya; Alkawarinka gaskiya ne, haduwa da kai gaskiya ne, maganarka gaskiya ce, Aljanna gaskiya ce, wuta gaskiya ce, Sa’a gaskiya ce, Annabawa gaskiya ne, Muhammadu (SAW) gaskiya ne.
  6. Allahumma laka aslamtu,
    1. O Allah, to You have I submitted,
    2. Ya Allah na mika wuya gare ka,
  7. wa bika amantu,
    1. in You I believe,
    2. gare ka na yi imani,
  8. wa `alaika tawakkaltu wa ilaika anabtu,
    1. in You have I put my trust, to You I turn in repentance,
    2. gare ka na dogara, gare ka na tuba,
  9. wa bika khasamtu,
    1. by Your help I argue,
    2. da taimakonka nake jayayya,
  10. wa ilaika hakamtu,
    1. to You I refer my case,
    2. zuwa gare ka nake mika al’amarina,
  11. faghfirli ma qaddamtu wa ma akhkhartu,
    1. so forgive me for my past and future sins,
    2. ka gafarta mini abin da ya gabata da zunubai a gaba.
  12. wa ma asrartu wa ma a`lantu.
    1. what I have done in secret and what I have done openly.
    2. abin da na yi a asirce, da abin da na yi a bayyane.
  13. Antal-muqaddimu wa Antal-muakhkhiru.
    1. You are the One Who brings forward and puts back.
    2. Kai ne mai kawo gaba da mayarwa.
  14. La ilaha illa anta wa la ilaha ghairuka,
    1. None has the right to be worshipped but You, and there is none who has the right to be worshipped other than You.
    2. Babu abin bautawa da gaskiya sai Kai, kuma babu wanda ke da hakkin a bauta masa face Kai.
  15. wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa bika
    1. And there is no power and no strength except with You.”
    2. Kuma babu wani ƙarfi da ƙarfi face a wurinKa.”

Another chain that Ibn `Abbas narrated: “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood during the night for Tahajjud,” and he mentioned something similar.
