Quran/46/15 (Special du'a when you reach 40)

1. and we have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. his mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [ period ] is thirty months. [ he grows ] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [ the age of ] forty years, he says, "my lord, enable me to be grateful for your favor which you have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which you will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. indeed, i have repented to you, and indeed, i am of the muslims." <> kuma mun yi wasiyya ga mutum game da mahaifansa biyu da kyautatawa, uwarsa ta yi cikinsa wahala, kuma ta haife shi wahala. cikinsa da yayensa wata talatin. har a lokacin da ya kai ga mafi ƙarfinsa, kuma ya kai shekara arba'in, ya ce: "ya ubangijina! ka kange nidomin in gode wa ni'imarka, wadda ka ni'imta a kaina da kuma a kan mahaifana biyu, kuma domin in aikata aikin ƙwarai wanda kake yarda da shi, kuma ka kyautata mini a cikin zuriyata. lalle ni, na tuba zuwa gare ka, kuma lalle ni, ina daga masu sallamawa (ga umurninka)." = [ 46:15 ] mun yi wasiyya ga mutum da ya kyautata wa mahaifansa biyu. uwarsa ta yi wahalar cikinsa, kuma ta haife shi da wahala, ta yi dawainiyar kulawa da yayensa na wata talatin. har sa'ad da ya kai ga balaga, kuma ya kai shekara arba'in,* to, sai ya ce, "ubangijina, ka fuskantad da ni domin in yi godiya ga ni'imar da ka ni'imantar a kaina, da kuma a kan mahaifana biyu, kuma domin in aikata aikin qwarai wanda ka yarda da shi. kuma ka sanya zuriyata su zama na qwarai. na tuba zuwa gare ka; kuma ni, yanzu ina cikin muslimai."

The 4th one is Suratul Ahqaf. And this is where Allah ﷺ compares the two types of offsprings. I mean the description of Suratul Ahqaf... about these two families. One family with an offspring who reaches the age of 40 and recites this dua. I'm going to say it to you right now but Allah compares it with the other family. I mean my heart breaks every single time I read the description of the other family because the parents are saying "Wailaka amin!" Just such a strong description for how weak some parents are feeling nowadays about their offspring who're coming and being arrogant and saying we don't believe in this.

This is one of my favorite duas. It's comprehensive. It has so many different things in it.

Dr. Younis: This is the only age actually mentioned in the Qur'an because that's the age of maturity. The age where there's the highest rate of divorce. Because that's when the human being... reaches where you want to reach. You have children, got married, and then you find that you are empty. You have everything and nothing else (left) to do. Allah reminding us... "Ya Allah help me! And remind me to be grateful to everything you gave me!... You gave me this ni'ima and you gave my parents a child like me." He didn't say give me righteous, He said rectify them. Meaning they could be not the best but Allah is capable of changing them. Beautiful! Jazakillahi khairan! This is really nice!
