5.1 The Finer Points of the Inner Realities of Repentance

- Mutum mai basira, mutum mai hankali, idan ya samu kuskure ya shiga saɓon Allah... toh ya kamata ya duba abubuwa guda biyar. <> Know that if one endowed with insight falls into a sin, he ought to look at five things.
- Ya duba shari'a. Mai Ubangiji ya umarce shi da shi? Mai kuma ya hana shi? Ya san cewa ya aikata abinda Allah Ya hana. Ya yi iƙirari akansa cewa lallai ya yi zunubin. <> He should look at the command and prohibition of God Almighty, which will engender in him acknowledgment of his act being a sin and affirmation of sin against his ego.
- Na biyu kuma sai ya duba alƙawarin Allah na lada ga wanda ya bi umarninSa da azaba ga wanda ya saɓa. Wannan ne zai sa ka (engender) jin tsoro (fear) da fargaba (trepidation) wacce za ta kai ka zuwa neman gafarar Allah. <> he should look at the promise and the threat, which will engender fear and trepidation in him and encourage him to repent.

Ya duba yadda Ubangiji (swt) Ya bashi halin da zai aikata wannan zunubin. Ya cire kanSa tsakaninSa da tsakanin zunubin. Da Shi ne ya kare shi, ya raba shi da zunubi. <> Third, he should look at God’s enabling him to do it and leaving him to fall into it, and decreeing it for him, and that if He willed He could have protected him from it and come between the two. - Toh idan ya san wannan, sai ya fara sanin wasu nau'o'i daban-daban na sanin Allah, da sunayen Allah, da siffofin Sa. <> This leads him to all kinds of inner awareness of God and His names and attributes:
- hikimar Sa <> His wisdom
- rahamar Sa <> His mercy
- gafara da afuwar Sa <> His forgiveness
- kamewar Sa daga azaba <> His forbearance
- karimcin Sa <> His generosity
- Wannan sanin sai ta wajabta masa wata irin ibada ga Allah ﷻ da waɗannan sunayen wacce ba ta samuwa gare shi ba tare da wa'yannan abubuwan ba har abada. <> this inner awareness causes him to worship with these Names, [a kind of worship] that can never be fulfilled except through these.
- Toh sai ya san kuma (realize) ratayan halitta da umarni da sakamako da ake yi da sunayen Allah da siffofin Allah. Kuma wannan yana cikin abubuwan da sunaye da siffofin Allah suke wajabtawa kuma tasirinsu ne a cikin samuwa. Babu wata makawa daban. <> He comes to realize the link between the creation and the command, the reward and the promise and warning and His names and attributes, and that [reward and punishment] are the effect of the divine names and attributes. He also realizes the other effects of divine names and attributes in life, and that every Name and every Attribute necessarily requires an effect and has implication. (see the 99 Names of Allah)
- Wannan mashadin, wato yawan tarbiyyar zuciya da sani da imani da ke kai mutum asirce-asirce na ƙaddara da hikima, wato zance yana taƙaita yayi bayani. Ba za a iya bayani a kansa. Sai dai kawai mutum yayi ta yi har ya kai kansa... shi zai ji in ya kai wannan matsayin. Wato shi ba zai iya bayyana abinda mutum yake ji a wannan maqam ɗin. <> This experience of witnessing allows the aspirant to encounter such splendid meadows of inner knowledge and faith and the secrets of predestination and wisdom that words are unable to describe.
- Sai dai wani abu, abinda shi Shaykh Ismail Harawi mai littafin ya faɗa (Allah Ya yi masa rahama... for some background on this Shaykh - the author in which Madarijil Salikin is critically commentating on, checkout 38:23+ of EP 282 of the Mad Mamluks with Dr Ovamir Anjum), bawa ya san izzar Allah a cikin abinda ya ƙaddara. <> Among them is what the Shaykh, God have mercy on him, mentioned, “That the servant knows His might in His decree.”
- Wato da ka yi zunubin nan, sai ka san lallai Allah ﷻ Shi ne Mabuwayi Sarki, Wanda Yake abin da Ya ga dama. <> That is, the Almighty and Exalted decrees what He wills,
- Cikin kamallar (mubayar/ruwayar?) Ubangiji ﷻ, Shi ne Ya hukuntawa bawa kuma Ya yanke masa cewa zuciyarsa za ta juya shi, ta sarrafa nufinsa zuwa ga abinda Allah Ya ga dama. <> and it is owing to the perfection of His might that He judged and decreed upon him and made him desire what the Almighty and All-wise desired of him.
- the power of the creation is limited to controlling one’s body and external behavior, but to make you desire and wish for what He desires and wishes from you, that is the power that belongs only to the One of Indomitable Might. <> babu mai ikon wannan sai mai izza mara ƙarewa sai Ubangiji ﷻ. (23rd min)
- Presented the example of the fear put into the disbelievers vs the fewer in number Muslims.
- Idan bawa ya san girman Ubangijinsa, ya san wannan a cikin zuciyarsa, kuma shaidar wannan ta kankama a jikinsa... toh sai ya zama shagalta da wannan (kallan izzar Allah da yabawa izzar Allah da girman Allah da mubayar Allah) ya fi ya tsaya yana maida hankali a wannan akan zunubin. <> When the servant knows the might of his Master and experiences and witnesses it with his heart, his engagement with it that keeps him from disobedience is better and more beneficial for him [than if he did not experience God’s power over his desires], for his journey is with God and not with his ego.
- Idan bawa ya san girman Ubangijinsa, <> When the servant knows the might of his Master
- and experiences and witnesses it with his heart, <> ya san wannan a cikin zuciyarsa, kuma shaidar wannan ta kankama a jikinsa...
- his engagement with it that keeps him from disobedience is better and more beneficial for him [than if he did not experience God’s power over his desires], for his journey is with God and not with his ego. <> toh sai ya zama shagalta da wannan (kallan izzar Allah da yabawa izzar Allah da girman Allah da mubayar Allah) ya fi ya tsaya yana maida hankali a wannan akan zunubin.
- Daga kuma cikin sannin izzar Allah da ƙada'in Sa, ya san cewa toh shi fa abin jujjuyawa ne kuma abin dannewa ne, an fi ƙarfinsa. Allah Shi ne Al-Qahharu. Mutum a cikin danƙon Allah Mabuwayi, Abin Yabawa yake. <> Another aspect of this awareness is His might in His decree, that he knows that he is managed and dominated, his forelock is in someone’s hand, and he cannot be protected unless that power protects him, there is no success for him except with that help; he is lowly and worthless in the powerful grasp of Almighty, Praiseworthy.
- Haka daidai a cikin shaida wannan izza ta Ubangiji, a cikin ƙada'in Sa, shi ne mutum ya shaida cewa kamala da yabo da wadata cikakkiya da mubaya gabakiɗayanta da Allah ta ke. <> Another aspect of his witnessing of His might in His decree [of leaving the servant to sin] is to witness the perfection and praise, that complete independence and all might and honor belong to God alone,
- Kuma cewa shi ɗan Adam, shi ne yafi cancanta da cewa yana da tawaya, shi ne abin zargi, shi ne mai aibi, shi ne ya zalunci kansa ko ya zalinci wani kuma shi ne mabuƙaci. <> the servant himself is closer to deficiency (naƙisi, bai cika ba) and dispraise, flaw (aibi), wrongdoing, and need... Thus, the deficiency and humiliation of sin affords him the opportunity to witness God’s might and honor.
- Related this to the scientific concept of "relativity" (timestamp 30:29 - 32:33)
- Haka dai daga wannan cikin mushahadar (witnessing/awareness) izzar nan ta Allah ﷻ, cewa shi fa bawa ba wai ya yi nufin ya saɓawa Ubangijinsa bane kawai don saboda kawai saɓo ne yake so ya yi. <> Another part of this awareness is that the servant does not wish to disobey His master because it is disobedience.
- Toh idan ya tsaya ya duba cewa hukunci ya bi ta kansa, ya sanya shi ya aikata abinda shi ba shi ne zaɓin sa ba, ba kuma shi ya yi nufin yi ba... bai tashi kawai don yana son saɓa wa Ubangiji ba... <> so when he sees the effectiveness of the judgment on him, and sees Him as the real agent in what he is not the real chooser, nor is he the initiator of desire with his own will and choice, so as if he chooses yet is not the chooser (shi mai zaɓi ne, ba mai zabi ba), wills yet is not the initiator of will (shi mai nufi ne, ba mai nufi ba), wishes yet he is not the initiator of wish...
- Toh wannan ma zai ƙara fahimtar da shi izzar Allah, da girmanSa, da ƙudurinSa. <> such a person thus sees the might and magnificence of God and perfection of His omnipotence.
- (Waminha) A cikinsu dai... kuma sai ya ga kyautawar da Allah Al-Barruhu yayi masa wajen sitirce shi yayin da yake aikata wannan zunubin tare da kamalar ganinsa da yake yi. <> Another aspect of it is that he comes to realize the charity of the Glorious in concealing his committing sin while being perfectly aware of and attentive to it,
- Da Ya ga dama, da Ya tona masa asiri a cikin halittarsa gabadaya. Shikenan, ya samu wannan wulaƙanci da tonan asiri. <> for had He willed, He would have publicized among the people and they would have scorned him.
- Wannan kuma yana cikin kamalar kyautatawar Ubangiji ﷻ da kuma sunayenSa Al-Barhu. <> It is perfection of His benevolence, and among His names is the Benevolent, and this benevolence by his Master who is perfectly needless of him and he utterly in need of Him.
- Wannan ba yana wajabta maka wai ka manta da zunubin gabadaya. A'a, a cikin wannan halin (na tunawa da rufewar asirin da Allah Ya yi maka) <> This does not mean total erasure of the sin from memory forever but only in this state;
- A kowane lokaci akwai muƙami wacce ubudiyyarsa (bautawarsa) ta dace ta shi. <> For every time or station there is a kind of worship appropriate to it.
- Allah yana son wadanda suka tuba. <> Innallaha yuhibbul tawwabina
